The Mission Is To Save Souls

James 5:20 "Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his ways shall save a soul from death and shall hide a multitude of sins".

Jesus told Peter that He would build His church on the truth of the revelation to Peter that Jesus is the Christ the son of the living God. This is the simple truth which hold within it the power of God unto salvation. Jesus said the gates of Hell should not prevail against it, He didn't mean Hell wouldn't enter into the church, for most of us was full of hell when we enter in. What He meant was that the gates of Hell couldn't keep the truth of Peter's confession out of the hearts of them that heard, nor keep those who heard it prisoners of sin and the guilt of sin.

But the problem is many no longer proclaim this simple truth. Todays message seems to be one of the promises of earthly riches. This modern self proclaimed gospel seems to be more about who we are, than who God is. It tends to be focused more on the things we have or can receive than on the giver of all good and perfect gifts. We have become so afraid of hurting feelings, that we no longer have an effective message of salvation. With a world full of lost souls, most churches seem to grow via the Christian experience, in other words the church isn't growing we are just trading members with other congregations. This life we have been called into is about saving soul. Jesus died on the cross that we might have life everlasting with the Father, and this needs to be the message the world hears. Paul said he wanted to know nothing but Christ and Him crucified, because there is life in nothing else.

In our text today James tells us that  when a sinner is converted from his ways a soul is saved. Jesus died to save souls, so when one which is lost in darkness seeks the light of salvation our Father in heaven is glorified. Let not Jesus death be in vain in the lives of those whom we meet, share the good news of Christ and Him crucified that a sinner might change his ways and his soul might be saved.

If I Hold My Peace.......

2 Chronicles 20:17 " ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.

We fight not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers, but the good news is the battle is not ours it is the Lords. God is absolutely always in control, all he wants from us is a willing vessel. A vessel He can use to do His will and bring Him glory. He tells us we shall not fight the battle, but just to prepare ourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.

Here in our story Judah was about to be attacked by three enemies, and the king was told fear not that for the battle was not theirs it was the Lords. They were to go, be prepared but stand still and let the Lord fight the battle. Today we are under constant attack by three enemies. the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life. These are the same three which Satan used to tempt Eve in the garden, Jesus in the wilderness and what he tries to trip us up with today. But we have a keeper, for Jesus said He has power over all flesh, he rose with all power in His hands. We to must be prepared, for the attack, but stand still and let the Lord fight our battle. Let Him work through us as we deny our self in total surrender to His spirit and stand still in His promise that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.

Jesus said to cast all of our cares upon Him for He cares for us. Jesus wants us to call upon Him in our day of trouble that He might deliver us. he called us and choose us for this life, He knows all that will come up against us, He just wants us to trust that He will do just what He said. after all the battle is not our it is the Lords and He is faithful and just, so just hold your peace and let the Lord fight your battles and know ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD to them who love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.

A Thank Full Life

John 10:15 "As the Father knoweth Me,even so know I the Father:and I lay down my life for the sheep".

The wages of sin is death; The soul that sinneth shall surley die.God cannot lie.If He said it in His word it must come to pass.Man because of his disobedience to God became a sinful soul, and he fell from the grace of God, and was rebellious and became an enemy to God.But God love man so much He took the best of Himself and wrapped it in the worst of man that He might save man.

We are like sheep, and God gave us a shepherd. Not just any shepherd but the good shepherd.Jesus said He will lay down His life for the sheep and that is what He did.He accepted for us the wage paid by sin.Through His death man can now be the righteousness of God.Because He was willing to lay down His life,we are able to live. His blood washed us,His stripes healed us,and His death and resurrection saved us.Christ has done more than enough. He said from the cross it is finished, all that is needed for lost man to be saved. Now the choice is yours will you accept all He has offered?

Jesus died on a cross rose on the third day with all power in His hands, that we might have a right to the tree of life.He has done more than enough that we might live a life full of thanks. Let us tell the Lord thank you by living a life that will lead a lost world to the salvation of the Lord.

Thanks For Giving

Ephesians 1:3 " Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

In this time of thanksgiving we find ourselves being thankful for many things. We are thankful for our jobs, health, food ,clothing, family, and for the day. But none of what we have would be possible if it wasn't for what God gave us. Let us be sure we are thankful for Jesus.

Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God went through all that He did for us and because of us. The Son of God became the son of man, so that the sons of man could become the sons of God. By His stripes we were healed. Because of His shed blood we are saved from sin. Because He choose us we can live a life everlasting with our Father. Jesus paid for it all, as He accepted for us the wage paid by sin. Let us be thankful for Jesus. Let us share Him this thanksgiving day. Offer Him to a hungry soul that they too might feel the joy of salvation on this thanksgiving day.

Bless our Father in heaven this day by sharing with others that which He shared with you. Say thanks by giving the meat that will last a lifetime, break the bread of heaven with a hungry soul that they might eat to life everlasting. Let this day of thanks be about more than sharing cakes and pies, turkey and dressing, football and beer with friends and family. Let this Thanksgiving day, be a day of Thanks by giving, share with a lost and hungry soul the blessings given to us from our Heavenly Father.

The Man In The Mirror

Psalms 51:3 "For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me".

"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"; "For there is none righteous no not one " . We live in a world where everybody is looking out the window. We seem to find fault in everything and everybody, yet can't seem to notice the faults that lie within our self. We are quick to tell someone "you can't judge me" and yet we are just as quick to pass judgment on others. The word of God tells us to remove the beam out of your own eye then remove the speck in your brothers eye.

Here in our text the writer tells God he is aware of  his own transgressions, and how he sees his sin before him. See here is a person who is looking in the mirror and not out of the window. It is so easy to focus on the flaws of others, that we don't even realize that what we are doing is a flaw within us. We want to condemn and dislike those who we think is going against Gods word. We say things like they are not a Christian, we call them evil and say they are not saved. But ask yourself, do you always act Christ like? Are all of your thoughts, actions and behaviors pleasing to God? Does that mean you are not saved, or that you don't believe. Remember there are weak and lame sheep in every flock, and yet they are all still His sheep. We our self was once the weak and lame of the flock and had to learn to be strong.

The writer of our text knew that his salvation was based on his life and walk with God, and not the way others might walk. Let us spend more time in the mirror of life that we might become a better reflection of who Jesus is to a dying world. Yes we are to hate sin but we must love the sinner. Let us be less of a judge of each other, and more of our brothers keeper. Let us through the power of prayer and supplication help bear the shortcomings and infirmities of the weak and lame sheep of our Lords flock.Let us love one another as Christ has loved us. In spite of.

Stay With The Lord

Acts 27:31 "Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship ye cannot be saved."

This journey we have embarked upon is going to be filled with life's ups and downs. There are going to be storms in our life which will shake our very foundation of our being. This mean old world is going to throw things at us that will cause us to question the who, what ,and why of our life. We may even get to the point where we begin to question and doubt the will and ability of God, thinking we need to jump ship. But Jesus said "be of good cheer for I have over come the world."

Our text today lets us know the benefit of staying on the ship. Even when life throws all it has at you to where you see the world around you falling apart it is still safer to stay the course with the Lord than it is to jump ship. Now there are some things you will have to do to make it through the times of trials and tribulations. See Paul told them to break fast and eat to their full. Paul knew they would need strength to withstand that which was before them. We to need to eat when the storms of life come. We need to feast on the promises of God's word for strength and encouragement in times of storms. He also had them throw some things off the ship to lighten up the load. There are something's and some people in our life we need to let go of and throw out of our life. Many of us are carrying around some stuff and have been holding on to some things way to long that truly don't mean us any good. we must let go of the world and the things of this world to truly take hold of and hold on to the Lord.

We must remember God rides in every storm. If He brings you to it He will bring you through it. We cannot jump ship and be all alone in the storms of life. It is better to make it safely on a little faith than it is to drown in a sea of doubt and despair. Except ye stay with the Lord you cannot be saved....

What Are You Doing With Jesus

Matthew 27:22 "Pilate saith unto them, what shall i do then with Jesus which is called the Christ? They all say unto him, let Him be crucified".

God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son to die that we might live. God loved us so much that He gave. He gave at a time when we were in great need and He gave the best that He had." For while we were yet sinners Christ died for us".But the question is what are you doing with this precious gift that has been given.

Jesus was given to everybody, yet there are many who refuse to accept this free gift from God. Jesus is the answer to what ever question that you might have. He is the solution to whatever problem that might arise in your life, and He is the way out of any circumstance that surrounds you, yet many still have yet to receive this free gift. So what are you going to do with Jesus? Will you accept Him in your life? Have you shared Him with a dying world? Or have you like the multitude, killed Him off to keep Him silent. The Jews and religious leader wanted Jesus dead cause He put a damper on their agenda.   Many of us want Him dead in our lives cause He puts a damper on our personal agenda's. He causes us to love when we want to hate, to forgive when we want to stay angry, to share when we want to keep it all to ourselves, and to look at ourselves instead of being able to point our fingers at others.

What are you doing with Jesus? He is God's free gift to all the world, He is as near to you as your heart. Will you accept Him and share Him or will you kill Him off in your life. He has been Given to you, it is your choice what you will do with this precious gift from God.

An Invitation To Life

Matthew 11:28 "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest"

Here we have an invitation from the Lord, all things are ready. It is the great gospel cry, let him who hath ear hear, let whosoever will, come; for today is the day of salvation harden not your hearts. All things ready, all things prepared, all things removed which would hinder our coming and accepting this invite. Jesus has made himself known to us, he's giving us the opportunity to learn of him. It is finished, the foundation laid, the great invitation now offered, but we must accept it. It's offered to all who realize the burden of sin, those who are convinced of the evil of sin, those tired of being in and of the world, there is a promised rest, and all are invited.

But first we must come to this rest, for it is in the best interest for sinners to come to Jesus. We must disassociate ourselves with all that stands between us and the promised rest of the Lord. We must give ourselves up to his conduct, submit to his rule and come to him freely, willingly and on his terms. It's his rest offered to all, but only given to those who truly desire his salvation. Let us come to him and take on his yoke, laying down our yoke of sin, for his yoke is easy. Take his yoke, for his yoke will free us from the bondage of sin and death. Take on his yoke of a servant, so that we might be diligent in our service to God. His yoke of submission, that we will humbly and patiently wait on our change to come. His yoke of obedience, that we might walk in his commands and his statues; yoked together with his love, that we have love one for another. Take on his yoke and learn of him, his yoke, that is lined with love and carries the hope of heaven.

And he will give us rest, enter his promised rest. The rest that comes from Jesus, the rest that is with Jesus, the rest that is in Jesus, in fact the rest is Jesus. He gives it to every soul that comes to him in faith seeking this rest. Come rest from the terror of sin, the power of sin, and the guilt of sin. Jesus Christ our rest in the Lord, we're all invited in , will you accept the invite?

When Your Light Shines

John 12:10-11 "But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death; Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus".

The Lord said "let your light so shine before man that they see your good works and glorify your Father which art in heaven".Light is seen, and not heard. Jesus wants us to live a life that shows who He is. But many are busy telling  the world they are saved, telling the world what God can do ,but the life they live tells a different story all together. Our life should tell a dying world that the Savior lives.

Here we have one who lived such a life. Lazarus doesn't say a word in the entire bible, there is no record or reference of him saying anything. Yet the life he lived was one that caused others to believe in Jesus. Lazarus was dead and Jesus called him to life. His new life with Christ was such a powerful witness, that not only did it lead others to believe, but the religious leaders wanted to put him to death along with Jesus. We were once dead in sin, once wrapped up in the guilt of sin, and held captive in darkness, but Jesus called us into a new life with Him. We should let the light of our new life so shine that a lost world will believe on the only begotten of the Father.

Jesus said "If I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me". It is when we lift Him with the living of our life which draws lost souls to Him. My grandmother once told me a gentleman never says he is one, his actions do. So a real Christian doesn't have to say he/she is one, the life they live will tell the story. Let your light so shine, and lead a lost soul to Christ.

Not Welcome

John 8:37 "I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my words have no place in you".

Where the Word of Jesus ought to be received, it is often rejected. These Jews were Abraham's seed, but they didn't have Abraham's faith. Many today claim to be like Christ ,yet they don't display Christ like characteristics. Jesus knows where his Word is received, and where it has no place. All we do is in vain if we let not the Saviors Words into our Hearts. The man reason many are against the words of the Savior is because the Words of the Savior is against them. Against there attitudes, actions, and ambitions. It will expose the thoughts and intents of the heart, causing them to look honestly inward at ones self. So this may cause many to seek to kill Jesus in their lives.

What place the word should have in our hearts? The word comes from Jesus, the appointed Messenger of God; it is true, weighty, saving, and therefore must have a place among those who hear it, it ought to obtain and retain an inside place, in our thoughts, memory, conscience, and affections. It should hold a place of honor in the heart, receiving attention, reverence, faith, and obedience. A place of trust, as we ought to in all things rely on the sure word of promise, since God will never lie or fail. It must hold a place of rule, the Word of Jesus is the law of the Christian. A place of love, being prized more than food, and defended with our very lives. It should have a permanent place, it must also transform us to abide within us.

But for many there is no place in them for the word of God. Some are to busy, there is no room in the inn of their lives, they are too occupied to be saved. It does not come as a novelty, and therefore it is refused. There is something else which occupies the place the word of god should have , as you think it too holy, too spiritual, too demanding, and restrictive. Many are just not honest, they enjoy sin, they are greedy and seek evil gain, needing a change of heart. Why not give God's word a try, it will bring with it all you need. Open wide the door and invite it in, It is the Word of the Lord Jesus the Savior of your soul.

Eyes Wide Shut

2Kings 6:17 "And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, Open his eyes, that he may see. and the Lord opened the eyes of the young man: and he saw: and ,behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha".
Faith serves as eyes to the true believer, and allows him/her to see what others cannot see. This allows the believer to remain calm and at peace when all around him might be in turmoil. From today's text we might learn much about ourselves, and yet it might seem invisible to the natural eye. We have learned God is everywhere, yet sin-blinded eyes do not see him. His law touches the thoughts and intents of the heart , yet it's wonderful spiritual meaning is not understood. Mankind is evil, guilty, and fallen ,yet we do not see the danger of our actions. The danger is imminent, yet there is dancing at hell's door by many who cannot see. We are proud, thinking we know all things, but not realizing there is much we don't see. With our blind sight we cannot always see that which God has in store for us, we don't see that God has provided us with all that we need to keep us and protect us. We sometimes can't see that he gave us Jesus.

The good news is that God alone can open the eyes of man. He alone can open the eyes of mans heart, to enlighten his understanding that he who once was blind can now receive his sight. One of the saddest conditions of a man is to read God's word with an unbelieving heart, to pass blindly through all the wondrous testimonies of redeeming love and grace which the scriptures contain. If we say that we believe in and trust in Jesus, then we cannot doubt and not trust the word of God. We walk by the faith, we live a life where believing is seeing. We have in the word of God, the love of Christ, and the power of his holy spirit. We might not always see a way ,but we must by faith believe that He is the way .I remember, when God  brought me across the Red Sea, so I have faith that he'll bring me over the Jordan river.

See Elisha and his servant was surrounded by the enemy, the servant was worried, because he didn't see what Elisha saw, but Elisha the man of God told him not to worry, see Elisha knew by faith that God was there. The servant couldn't see him so Elisha Prayed for God to open His eyes that he might see the salvation of the Lord. We too in this life must pray that God opens the eyes of those that are in darkness those that are lost in sin that they too might see the salvation of the Lord. That they to, when surrounded by the enemy, feeling trapped, seeing no way out, might thru the eyes of faith trust in God's promises, for believing is seeing.

A New Gratitude

Titus 2:3 "For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lust and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another."

"All have sinned and come short of the glory of God"; there is none righteous, no not on, there is none who wants to obey the Lord, none who wants to do His will. There is not one who is able to walk in the Holy manner in which we have been called to walk in, we all had to be born again. If we could have done better, Jesus would not have had to die.

We who have been saved by the grace of God, need to be carful in our dealings with others. Often in our effort to be Holy we come across as being self righteous, acting as if we are better than someone else. We who have receive the Lord in our life are better off, but we are not better than anyone, for Jesus shed just as much blood for the least and He did for the greatest. We tend to sometimes forget that we at one time was lost, we were foolish, disobedient, deceived, many are still deceived, serving the lust, will, and desires of the flesh, under the disguise of religion." But by the grace of God there go I". We have to remember the kindness and love God shared with us when He gave us Jesus. It was according to His mercy that He saved us, He blessed us with a heart to receive Jesus in our life. There was nothing we did, for Jesus said we didn't choose Him ,but He choose us.

Let us be kind to those still in darkness, let us love them with the same love Christ loved us with. Let us pray that the Father forgives them for they know not what they do. Let us lay down our life by putting aside our wishes, wants, thoughts, and ambitions, and let the Lords will be done. Remember but for the grace of God, that lost soul could be you....

There is none Other

Revelation 1:18 "I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and I have the keys of hell and of death.

Life exist only in His name; Salvation is of God and in His Christ. " Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved". Again, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way ,the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me". No matter how good or noble a man or woman may believe he or she is, that person can no more save himself or herself than you could have created yourself.

"Jesus saith unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die". Before a person can experience the event of the resurrection unto life, he or she must experience the person who is the resurrection. People how can you be apart of something you know nothing about, how can you believe in Him whom you haven't heard? See without any conviction there can be no true conversion, you can't experience a resurrected life until you first realize you were dead in sin. As we partake in His death, we will walk in the newness of life. But to walk new, the old must die, and for the old to die, we must realize there was an old." I am crucified with Christ, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me". It is not about the titles we wear, the building we fellowship in, or the Pastors and Bishops we sit under, it is solely about the Savior of the world.

All things are of God. He is the beginning, He is the process, and he is the end. He is our beginning, he is our path, and he is our life. It is all about Christ and him crucified, not about who we are, but whose we are. We must really come to this knowledge, for when we truly grasp hold to this fact, we will become better Christians, obedient servants,  convincing witnesses, and a more accurate reflection of Christ. Who we are will no longer seem important, our time will be spent lifting up our savior, and not elevating ourselves. We will seek all lost souls, spreading the good news of the gospel. This is our resurrected Lord, and it is about Christ and Him crucified. There is none other....

A Message Of Salvation

Matthew  10:7 " and as ye go, preach, saying The kingdom of Heaven is at hand.

Jesus tells us that He came " not for the righteous but to call the sinner to repentance". Yet most of the messages of today seem to be geared at everything but calling the sinner to repentance. Now true there is none righteous so here Jesus was probably speaking of the self righteous, but what happened to the message we are to proclaim. We have allowed personal agendas, political views and worldly concerns to dictate the message we proclaimed. No longer is it one to call the sinner to repent, but to call the saved to prosperity.

Salvation was so important to God that He didn't leave any part of it up to us. we didn't choose Him He chose us, He gave us His words to speak and His spirit to keep us, but we have changed the truth His message which is designed to convict hearts and convert soul into one of acceptance. Here in our text Jesus is about to send the disciples out on a missionary journey. He instructs them in every phrase of the journey including the message they were to proclaim. It was a message that would call sinner to repentance. Lost souls is what brought Jesus from heaven to earth, and lead Him from the earth to the cross, and it is this truth and this truth alone by which man can be saved.

Jesus said we are to leave the ninety and nine to seek after the one that is lost, but for the sake of the collection plates, congregation size and church popularity, we tend to lean more at pleasing the ninety and nine. remember God loves the sinner and He gave His life that the sinner could be saved, and we owe it to God as well as the sinner to at least let them know. Let the message you proclaim be one of salvation......

Is It Worth It?

Mark 8:36 " For what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul"?

We have entered a  new age of religion, a phase of religious beliefs that seems to put having things above saving souls. We tend to think all blessing are of a material nature, that the material poor and homeless are unsaved while those living in abundance are the chosen and saved of the Lord. We seek title over responsibility, positions over duty, and it seems to be more feeding off the flock instead of feeding the flock. We have replaced God revelation to man with mans imagination of God and preach for the gospel the tradition of man. But I ask is it worth it?

Here Jesus ask the question what does it profit a man if he gains all the world has to offer yet loses his soul. Is it really worth it to seek after the things of this world before seeking after the things of heaven. The word of God says seek ye first the kingdom of God, and these things shall be added unto you. God will withhold no good thing from us, but we must realize we all are not capable of handling the same blessings. God knows what each of us need, and He will not put more on us than we can stand, that also means He won't give us more than we can handle. everybody can't handle being wealthy.(Remember Freddie Prinze and Donnie Hathaway's both who killed themselves because they couldn't handle the riches and fame). The bible says contentment with God is great gain. Now don't get me wrong I am not saying that god doesn't bless people with abundance, but let it be His blessing and not our goal, motive or agenda to acquire wealth and abundance. When we seek after the treasures of this world the enemy can use that lust to lead us astray and out of the will of God.

A rich man once placed $500.00 on one side of the room and a bible on the other side. He explain that although both appeared to be a blessing, one would last for a minute while the other would bless for a life time. He then asked the people to choose, most went for the $500.00. While inside the bible there was a blessing of a lifetime a check for $1,000,000.00. Now this may or may not be a true story and it may never happen to any of us, we are all not going to be rich, but there is a greater blessing in the word of God than in all the treasure and pleasure of this world.

Do The Right Thing

Mark 14:55 " And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put Him to death; and found none".

Those who do right or the right thing are often viewed as a threat to the status quo, and even more so in todays religious community.  In this new age of religion there are so many self appointed leaders who have their own personal agendas and self serving ministries, that those who desire to do the right thing and profess God's truths tends to threaten them. Many just give up in despair, and strive to fit in with the crowd and go along with the flow, but we must stand and do the right thing, even if it means to stand alone.

Here in our text Jesus was on trial by the religious leaders of His time. See the way and truth of God's word threaten the religious status quo. Their positions and authority had been brought into question. All that they were teaching and proclaiming was now being challenged, rebuked, and corrected and they sought to destroy and discredit Him. They looked to find a witness against Him. But by Him continuing  to do God's will and proclaim God's truths and in total surrender, submitting to His arrest, Jesus showed us that we are to live in the faithfulness to God's plan in spite of the circumstances that it brings. God's plan for mans redemption was that Jesus live a life of total obedience to God, that man can be reconciled with God.

No one likes to be falsely accused of something, yet Jesus stood quietly while others accused Him unjustly. we must at all times seek to please God in all of our actions, words and deeds. There will be many who will not like your stance and will try and discredit you and what you say by accusing you of things that are not true. But remember God knows everything, and He said that He will never leave us nor forsake us, and if we hold our peace He will fight our battles. Just stand strong and do the right thing.

A Way Out Of No way

Exodus 14:22 " and the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand and on their left".

We have all been in situations where there seemed to be no way out, no solution that we are able to see. This life we have been called to live is one of faith, for the just shall live by faith. but on this road we travel often we don't see the how, of God's provisions, the why of His directions or the what of our purpose, which can cause us to enter into a state of doubt and confusion not seeing anyway out. But our awesome God is in control of every situation even when all seems hopeless. He tells us He is the way.

Jesus tells us to cast all of our cares upon Him for He cares for us. In out text God let the children of Israel out of Egypt. Here they were trapped in the middle of no where, the enemy coming behind them and sure death before them. The best they could hope for was to be captured and returned back to slavery in Egypt. However, Moses the man of God told them that God could and would save them. Then the sea was divided with walls of water on each side to keep the children moving straight ahead, not able to veer to the left or to the right. We too must trust that God can and will save all who calls upon the name of the Lord. It doesn't matter the situation or the circumstances Jesus saves. We must  be still and behold the salvation of the Lord.

God has delivered us from the bondage of sin and slavery of the flesh. There are times when we feel trapped, in danger of falling back or giving in to the temptations of the evil one. But we like the children of Israel must also trust that God can and will save us. There is no temptation that can come upon us that He hasn't given us a way out of. Let us be still and see the salvation of the Lord for He is our way out of no way.

Just Do Your Part

Ezekiel 2:7 "And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious."

We all have a calling in the building of the kingdom of God. We have been called to proclaim to a dying world the good news of salvation. Now there are times when we can get frustrated, as it seems no one is listening. It seems the harder you pray, the more you proclaim, the more you care the more rebellious the people get. Jesus forewarned us this would happen , He said they hated and rejected Him, so they would do the same thing to us.

But we have been called to a duty, and we can't let the fact that the people are not responding prevent us from doing what it is that God has called us to do. After all we are just sowers of the seeds, we can't see the hearts in which they are planted in. God said His word will not come back void, so we must just continue doing what God called us to do and trust that His word and spirit will do it's part. This blog has been posted for 2yrs. now and ever so often someone will inbox me and tell me how something written has made a impact in their life. We would be surprised to know the number of lives we have touched sharing the word of God. God called us out of the darkness that we might bear witness that there is a light, a glorious light and to lead those still in darkness into that light. So let your light continue to shine for someone right now is looking to be lead out of darkness.

In our text today ,God tell Ezekiel to go and tell Israel what thus said the Lord. He tells him to tell them, rather they will listen or not. He tells Him don't worry, He will protect him, provide for him and keep him through it all. We too don't need to worry, if God called us to ,we must trust that He will provide all that we need to accomplish that which He called us to. He is the author and the finisher of our faith. So be encouraged, obey your call, stand strong for the Lord and proclaim the good news from Calvary. Someone is having a test and could use the comfort of your testimony to get them through. Whether they listen or not, do your part and watch God's will be done

We shall Overcome

Mark 13:26 "And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory."

The daily headlines are never very hopeful, they are filled with stories of hopelessness. But we are to be of good cheer, none of this has any bearing on what God has in store for His children. His word says he will supply our every need. This is not His plan for us, let us not be blinded by the gods of this world, to the good things which God has for those who love Him.
Upon completion of each intricate part of his creation, God said, " it is good! " Each element of creation was brilliant! Today's headlines are but a representation of how the evil designs of Satan, and our own sin have taken the beauty of God's creation, and changed it into a distorted world of chaos and despair. Hatred, plagues, murder, and hunger are not God's will for His creation. Jesus, our blessed hope, will  come and set things right. Jesus is coming back, and when Jesus returns to earth, He will return as our triumphant King, and all eyes will see him. Every knee will bow to him, and every tongue will confess of him, that he is Lord. He is greater than anything on earth and anything occurring in the earth, so be not discouraged. He is our reigning Lord, Savior and conquering King. When Christ returns, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, as the true light will take center stage, Jesus the light of the world. And then they shall see the Son of man, in the clouds with great power and glory.(ride on king Jesus) Then he shall gather His elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

But until he returns, we have his Holy Spirit to comfort us, and his word to assure us and to hold on to. His word tells us" we wait in hope on the Lord he is our help and our shield " :"But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you ":" Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long ".  So let us hold to the hope of the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. We shall overcome

Blessed In Jesus

Acts 4:12 " Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved".

I have heard many say, I am just waiting on  my blessing from the Lord. Well the truth of the matter is every thing God has promised man and every blessing He has for man He gave us in Jesus Christ. The problem is many have yet to receive the many blessings God has for us because they have yet to enter into Christ, and in Christ lies all the gifts from God.

Jesus said if we love Him and keep His commands, we are in Him and He is in us, as He is in the Father. He and His Father will love us and come and make their abode with us. So we are “in” the Father and Son in the same sense that they are “in” one another. We do not become all one individual, but we love one another and our relationship is so close that they are said to abide with us.  In the Old Testament examples, God placed His blessings in a place, and, in order to receive those blessings, people had to be in that location. They had to be in the house with the blood over the door for the death angel to spare them. Those inside the ark was saved, they had to be inside Rahab's the harlots house, and inside the city of refuge, to received the blessings God had for them. The New Testament however requires us to be “in Christ.” to receive God's blessings. Why should we want to be in Him? Why is it important to be in Him? As in the Old Testament examples, blessings are found in Christ that we can have if we are in Him but will miss if we are not in Him.

In Christ We are dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. The old man is crucified and the body of sin is done away. There is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. John 15:6 — If anyone does not abide in Jesus, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. When people are not in Christ, they are still guilty of sin; their destiny is to be burned like worthless, dead branches. But when people are forgiven of sins, they come into Christ and no longer stand under condemnation. It is in Christ that we have everlasting life, for there is no salvation in any other, and  no other way man can be saved. Salvation is truly the greatest of all blessing given to us from God.

Surrender All.............

Isaiah 40:28 " Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of His understanding".

This walk we have embarked upon is one of constant warfare. It is a life full of uncertainties, doubt, unbelief, pride self righteousness and distrust. We are in a constant battle with the two natures that reside in our one body, and the battle is not with flesh and blood , but it is with spirits, principalities and powers that we can't see. It is a battle that we cannot win. But the good news is , the battle is not ours it is the Lords.

The everlasting God is faithful, and it is in His faithfulness that we must reside. God knows all that we are going through. He is the creator and sustainer of all the world and not only can He but He will protect His people. God has given us all we need to make this journey and all we have to do is to be willing. He never sleeps nor does He ever tire of taken care and providing for those that are His. In fact He ask that we cast all of our cares upon Him. He will carry our burdens, He will fight our battles, He will supply all of our needs, but we have to trust Him and let go to let God be God. It is when we try to do that which God is best equipped to do that we fail, ( God is best equipped to do all in our life). He tells us in His word to trust in the Lord and lean not to our own understanding, and acknowledge Him in all of our ways and He will direct our path.

God wants us to surrender all to Him, from our decision making to the actions that evolve from the decisions we make. We are incapable of living a life pleasing to God outside of God living our life. He wants willing vessels, empty of our wants needs and desires, but filled with faith and obedience that He can use as He see fit that a lost world might be saved.

Too See His Face

1John 3:2 "It doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is".

The present condition of the believer, not looking at its imperfection, is a state of much joy and honor. Looked at in the light of faith, it is inspiring, for "now we are the sons of God". We are near to God's heart as his children. We are nestled under the wings of God for protection. We abide in his tabernacle for communion. We feed in his pasture for our daily provisions. With all this, our earthly existence is not a life which we would desire to be have forever. It is as a pilgrims journey, a sailors voyage, a soldiers warfare; and we look forward to its end with joyful expectation. Oh to see the face of the Man who took our place.

"It doth not yet appear what we shall be", as we are veiled and we travel through this world incognito. Our master was not known here, His glory veiled in flesh, His deity was concealed in infirmity, His power hidden under sorrow and weakness, and his richness buried under poverty and shame. The world knew him not, for he was made flesh. "But we know that when he shall appear". We speak of our Lords appearance without doubt, for we know. Our faith is so sure it becomes knowledge. He will appear surely, and so we speak of it as a date for our own manifesting." When he shall appear" . Oh the hope, the glory, the bliss, the fullness of delight which surrounds this great appearing. We shall be like him, having  a body like his body, sinless, incorruptible, painless, and spiritual. Having a soul like his soul, Holy, perfect, instructed , developed, strengthened, delivered from temptation, conflict and suffering. We must be made something like him now, or else we shall not be found like him at his appearing, see we must be born again to see this change.

"We shall see him as he is". This glorious sight will perfect our likeness, this will be the evidence of our being like him as only the pure in heart can see God. God showed power in making us creatures but love in making us sons. Behold what glories come out of our being sons of God! Let us not rest till by faith in Jesus we receive power to become sons of God, and then let us go on to enjoy the privileges of son ship.

Are You Sure?

Luke 2:44 " But they supposing Him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought Him among their kinfolk and acquaintance".

Are you in the company of Jesus? Are you sure? Many believe they are but in fact He was left at the temple. We sometime have a tendency to think we can take Jesus everywhere we go, but the truth of the matter is you can't just take Jesus anywhere, He won't be a part of your mess or the work of the evil one. Jesus is God and can't dwell in ungodliness.

Here we see that the parents of Jesus was at the temple for worship, upon leaving they assume that Jesus was with them. They went a whole days journey before realizing that He wasn't. First it is a dangerous thing to go a whole day without communing with Jesus. Without praying to Him, leaning on Him and calling out to Him. We must be careful not to be so wrapped up in personal affairs and worldly matter that we go all day without fellowshipping with the Lord. When did you last speak with the Lord? Are you in His company or are you supposing that He is in your company. Have you left Jesus in the temple or are you in His company about His Fathers business sharing the good news of salvation with a dying world.

We who profess to be children of the Lord must know without a shadow of a doubt that we are in the company of the savior. We do this by being about the Fathers business and not being wrapped up in worldly matters and personal agendas. Let us not assume that Jesus is with us let us make sure we are with Him...................

Walk The Talk

1Thessalonians 2:4 "But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts".

Paul and his companions were treated harshly in Philippi because of their faith. But they refused to stop spreading the good news. They traveled on to Thessalonica and spoke boldly once again about Christ. They could have chosen to be more guarded and less open, in light of the abuse they had just received in Philippi. But their approach was not to give the Thessalonians believers a slice of life, sharing the Gospel, and then hiding, holding up some where safe, but rather to give them the whole loaf, by sharing the gospel and their life with the believers.

The Thessalonians likely could see how Paul worked, making tents. They seen how he conducted his business, his quality of workmanship, and how he went about making sales. They could see how he and Silas got along together, how they shared what the had, and how they lived out their faith in the community. How they lived the life they proclaimed. As believers, we have people looking  at us too. There are many people in our lives with whom we may share the Gospel, but who see only slices of our faith in action.(people who see us on Sunday's or at other weekly church functions). But God also places those in our path who get to see the whole loaf, those with whom we are sharing our lives, as well as the Gospel. These include our spouses and our children. Often though, there may be young or weaker believers in church who may be watching us, or co-workers, friends, and other people we might associate with regularly. How might we open up and share the whole loaf of bread with them . How might we be a living testimony of our Lord and Savior.

Paul and Silas offer up a good example of whole loaf living. They shared, not just the Gospel through words, but they showed how to apply what they were teaching to everyday life. Often it is the testimony of our lives, along side the Gospel that authenticates the message in the eyes of those around us. Even though our lives might be busy, full of activity and even a great ministry, it's important that we take time to nurture and encourage, to teach and train those believers God has placed in our path. Sharing our lives with them can positively impact their perspective on the Gospel as we faithfully live it out before them. Being doers of the word and not hearers and Sayers only. Ask yourself this question daily "Am I living a life today that supports the Gospel message I Proclaim?"

The Fruit Of Salvation

Galatians :22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such is no law".

"A tree is known by the fruit it bears", yet as a tree takes time to grow and mature,  the spirit does not cultivate these virtues into a believers life over night. But just like you can see the evidence that it is a fruit tree before it bears fruit, there should also be some evidence in the believer of the nature of God. With the death of Christ, all who believe are born of the spirit of God, and exposed to the fruit of the spirit, the true nature of a child of God.
We have been blessed with the fruit of God's Spirit, and we are now to walk through life bearing God's nature. A nature made up of Love, a willing sacrificial giving of oneself for the benefit of others. Joy, a gladness of the heart; Peace, a tranquility of mind, free from worry and fear; Long-suffering, being patient with others; Gentleness, kindness; Goodness, generosity; Faith, is dependability; Meekness, having consideration for others; Temperance, is self control, the ability to harness and control ones lust. God has absolutely nothing to do with sin, it is not within His nature. Therefore being born again with the nature of God, we are not to surrender ourselves to the lust ,will and desires of the old nature. We are to walk bearing the fruit of God's nature, in the fruit of God's spirit. Now notice the word fruit is singular not plural, the Holy Spirit has one fruit, God has but one nature, but it has been broken down into a list of traits to help us understand His nature. When the believer is blessed with God's nature, all the traits are present, but time is needed for all to mature.

At conversion every believer crucifies the flesh, that is in repentance we have turned from, renounced and destroyed all that held us in the life of sin. We have forsaken all our evil passions that we might walk in the nature of God. All of our earthly children bear some, if not all of our characteristics, and if we have been born of the nature of God, we too should bear His characteristics and nature.
