Amos 8:11 " Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:
We have entered the era of the itchy ear church goer. God's word say that God has placed each member in the body, everyone of them where it pleased Him, yet we travel from church house to church house, seeking the message that will allow us to live comfortably in the sinful lives Christ died to free us from. But the sad news is the word of God says there will come a day when we will desire to hear the word of God and it won't be there to hear.
The bible tells us to seek the Lord while He might be found, we must seek to hear God's word while we are able to hear God's word. We hear a lot of the feel good message that tells us how great we are and how we are all going to heaven. But we need to return to the scriptures inspired by God, design for us to live by. It is the doctrine we are to learn and teach,. It is these truths which God will reprove, rebuke, correct and instruct His church in righteousness, that we might go out into a dying world and win souls for Christ. It is God's word, and not what denomination you are that will win lost souls to Christ. Here in our text God warns how the days come; Now this is a present tense statement, see there are many who are seeking a church where they can hear God's word and they can't find one. it seems like everyone is proclaiming a message of prosperity, or the promise of material gain in an effort to fill church pews and collection plates, when the people are seeking salvation for their souls and the souls of their loved ones.
If we don't get back to the word of God, we may become so lost in the lies of this world, we may no longer be able to hear the word of God, or worst it may no longer be there for us to hear.
