Magnify The Lord

Philippians 1:20 "According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness,as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life or by death."

If there ever was a man who lived a life of total commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ it was Paul. Now remember he was in prison facing a capital crime with his deliverance looking almost hopeless.Death was staring him in the face.Yet Jesus Christ and Him crucified remained the focus of his life.We all have only one great expectation and hope, to magnify Christ in our body.

Paul said his earnest expectation, meaning he was aiming all his attention,at one object with total concentration, eagerness, and intensity. He turned his eyes and thoughts away from everything else and focus on one thing and one thing alone, Jesus Christ and Him crucified, and magnifying Him in his life that all might be saved. This was his expectation and his hope. Here he is in prison and yet his thoughts and hope was not on his own freedom or his impending death, it was on allowing others to be able to see Jesus that they might be saved.Paul knew the human body has a tendency to lean towards doubt, self centerness, pride boasting etc.But he also realized there was only one way Jesus could be seen by a dying world and that was if he was magnified in his own body.So Paul gave his body to Jesus Christ, he surrender himself for the masters use.

We to must surrender our bodies to Christ for Him to use as He sees fit.The life we now live in the flesh ,we live, not we but Christ lives through us.We must surrender ourselves that we become His instrument unto righteousness. He is the light that we must let shine, that all in darkness might be saved. Magnify the Lord in your body that a lost world might see the good news of salvation...
