Philippians 4:13"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me".
We who profess Christ are famous for quoting this scripture when we are challenged. But I ask the question? Can you really? Yes it is true that Jesus died on a cross, rose the third day morning with all power in His hands, and yes we do have access to this power through Christ, yet we tend to talk it more than walk it.
We seem to believe Jesus can make us rich, and famous. That He can bless us with the finer things of this world and yes He can, there is no limit to what God can do.But it seems when it comes to living a life pleasing to God,a life without sinning, we tend to have every excuse in the world as to why we can't.Now don't get me wrong, I am aware we cannot be perfected in the flesh, and the flesh itself is sinful so we will have sin with us every where we go.But it is like having a bottle of whiskey in your pocket,if you don't open it you can't get drunk. If we don't surrender to the lust ,will and desires of the flesh we won't give in to the sin that lies within the flesh. In fact Paul said if we walk in the spirit we won't fulfill the lust of the flesh. My point is Jesus died to save us from sin, yet we fill we have to sin. Are we saying that Jesus failed? If you truly believe that you can do all things through Christ, then let Christ lead you and live a life worthy of the name which we bear.Remember the spirit is willing, but it is the flesh that is weak,so walk in the spirit.
Now I am not claiming that any of us when saved will never sin again, no That is not what I am saying. But when you surrender your life to Christ, and you really believe that you can do all things, through Christ which strengtheneth you, then the act of sin should be the exception and not the rule. Let us strive to get to the mountain top, closer to God, and leave the plains which is too close to Sodom, and do as Jesus told the woman,"go and sin no more"........
