Luke 15:8 "Either what woman having ten pieces of silver,if she lose one piece,doth not light a candle and sweep the house and seek diligently til she find it".
Lost in the church! This is a real situation in today's church.In this era of self claimed, self named,and self famed religions and ministries, there are many following the ways of man they have become lost to the word of God.Many have elevated the man of God over the word of God.We have allowed so much of the worlds beliefs, and the traditions of man to influence the worship and service of God,that many are so lost in these traditions and rituals that they can't see Christ for themselves.
In the parable the woman lost her coin,the coin was in the house yet it was lost.There are many in the church but they are lost.They are in darkness lost amiss the mess that have crept into the church.Lost in the untruth which is being proclaimed from the pulpit.Lost in the itchy ear teaching as we try to please man instead of pleasing God.The woman had to turn on the lights and we must turn the light of Christ on, proclaim the true gospel message of Christ and him crucified, that all who here might diligently seek Christ for their life.Then she began to sweep the house removing all that hindered her finding the coin.We to with the gospel must sweep the house,cleaning out all that can hinders the lost from coming to the knowledge of Christ and Him crucified.
There is much that takes place in God's house and by the man of God, that is not in line with the word or spirit of God.We must not let the people of God placed in leadership positions become bigger than the God we serve or the word of God we follow.Study God's word for yourself,let it direct you feet and light your path.Let His spirit rest rule and abide over and in your life that you are not lost in the church.
