Invitation Extended!

Hebrews 4:16"Let us there come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in a time of need".

Prayer is to the spirit man what breathing is to the physical man.Prayer occupies a most important place in the life of the Christian. His vigor, happiness, growth and usefulness depends upon the strength of his prayer life.In scripture, the utmost encouragements are held out to prayer. And here we have one of the sweetest invitations to prayer.

Let us come, we have a invitation, and invitation which is extended to everyone, the sinner and the saint. When we draw near to God in prayer we come to God as King, with reverence, confidence and submission.we come to one who gives as a King so we can ask of great things and with great expectancy, for he has riches of grace and power. His sits upon the throne of grace for the purpose of dispensing grace to all that ask.To the throne of the great God, us poor sinners are invited to come that we might receive his mercy and his grace.

Let us come boldly, not proudly, presumptuously, not with the tone of demand, for this is a throne, but come boldly, for it is the throne of grace. We may come constantly,at any time and as many times as we desire. We may come with all our petitions, as we cast all our cares upon him, coming freely with simple words from the heart. We may come hopefully, knowing we will be heard, and fervantly with importunity of pleading. So let us come that we may obtain mercy and find grace, not just utter words but actually receive a blessing. We may come when we need mercy, because of our sin.We may come when we need grace, and when we are in need of more grace. We are invited to come for mercy so even the chief of sinners can come. The character of God encourages us to be bold when we come, his spirit calls us to come, the promises of God invites us to come by their greatness, freeness, and sureness. The reason for the bold approach is in Jesus,he died and shed his blood that we can come with holy boldness and receive that which He has already given to us.Lets us come when sinful to find mercy;when we are weak to find help, and when we are tempted to find grace. The invitation is extended will you come and come boldly?
